Directive

"Our purpose is to provide financial oversight of the Fire Department so that it may be able to complete its mission."

The Fire Board of Directors is composed of five members. These members are elected by the membership of the fire department. The candidates receiving the largest number of votes will be elected to 2-year terms. 

  • Three positions are elected in January of even numbered years & start their terms on the date of election. These three positions will be open to Active Volunteer members. 

  • Two positions are elected in January of odd numbered years & start their terms on the date of election. These two positions are open to paid Duty Crew members.

 

All persons that are nominated to any office or position in the department must meet the definition of an Active Volunteer Member or paid Duty Crew Member as defined in WFD's By-Laws. 

 

Any position not filled in these elections are nominated and elected during the next department business meeting following the elections. Any position remaining unfilled due to the lack of a qualified candidate being nominated may be appointed by the Fire Chief.

The Fire Board of Directors meet roughly once per quarter. These meetings are open to the public. Agendas and Minutes are public information and can be requested from this website.
